Tryin’ Smorty

Next on my list of companies to utilize is Smorty. Smorty is another system used to advertise on blogs and get the word out. The idea behind their company is to provide a true opinion.

I’ve submitted both blogs to them and each were accepted within 24 hours–less than 72 is their promise.

Their criteria is fairly basic–at least three months old, indexed by Google, regular postings, not offensive, etc…I can’t see many people having problems being accepted. There’s no limit on how many you can have in their system either.

Pay generally ranges from $6-$100. Posts should be between 150-400 words and contain one link.

Advertisers have 5 days to approve your post. If they don’t within the allotted time, it’s automatically approved. Once your post has been approved, you’ll be paid on the next payday. Payouts are done weekly.

Smorty also pays via PayPal, so no worries about giving them too much personal information.

We’ll see what all Smorty may have to offer me!

Spock

I think by now, most of you have heard about Spock. I read a bit about it a few months back and went ahead and signed up.

Spock is a search application for People. Not just celebrities either–anyone online can theoretically be found on Spock. Spock provides relevant tags, related people, up to date news, and links to any and everywhere this person is mentioned online.

I did a quick search for the writer’s strike and immediately came up with BJ Novak and Mindy Kaling, two hyphenates (writer-actors) from The Office.

I haven’t ‘claimed’ all the links to myself just yet (Myspace page, Facebook, blogs, site profiles, etc) but you can be certain I intend to. By doing so, I can make sure I’m linked properly.

I want to work on Ryan’s info as well. His search only shows info from his Myspace page and well, he’s only logged into Myspace a handful of times.

We all ’stalk’ people via the internet. That’s half of why all these social networking sites become so popular. Spock has been added to my list of stops to look for the goods on someone, or just to find someone I want to catch up with. I remember when I first met Ryan, I looked all over the place for info about him–just anything to have a decent conversation starter. At the time, I had no clue how to spell his last name, but I bet anything I could’ve used my spy skills to locate him on Spock via all the related tags!

And I’m gonna need Mr. Fabulous to go ahead and claim himself on there. The results are a little sad without his colorful world showing up!

Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to spend a few hours looking through all these links they have for Johnny Depp.

Bloggerwave

I’m branching out and looking to see just what I can do with my blogs. Next up to try out is bloggerwave.

I’ve read up a lot about them, and they had a pretty controversial beginning. Some things got messed up with payments, something PayPal had an issue with, and problems not being communicated in the absolute best way, and suddenly they had a bad rep.

Of course, it all go sorted out, but they’re still working to restore their name and I’m looking to find out for myself.

I encourage anyone else to explore for themselves and get their own feel for how things really are.

Flora2000

Jeffrey and I have been friends since high school. In fact, for the longest, we were best friends, but things got in the way–as ‘things’ often do.

We met at a local hangout, where Jeffrey approached me, and was actually the first person ever to hit on me instead of Kristin. I’ll never forget that. See, Kristin was my big-busted best friend. We were alike in every way, except for our approach to guys. They often pursued her, becoming friends with me in the process, and soon ran screaming from her. They always tried to spark something with me afterwards, but the rules of friendship prohibited me from ever exploring any possibilities.

Anyway, I digress–eventually Kristin came to lead Jeffrey on in a very rough way, and Jeffrey and I were so close, it was just the last straw for me. I ended my friendship with Kristin over the way she treated Jeffrey. That’s how strong mine and Jeffrey’s friendship was. I was more than willing to leave my best friend of so many years because of the way she treated him. After all, he’s my Ducky.

Years and miles have pushed us in different directions, and kept us from being able to keep in touch, but Jeffrey and I are back in communication. I don’t know if we’ll ever be back where we were, but I’ll always treasure the friendship we once had.

A common occurrence between us was to leave each other flowers. It was something we always talked about–how some guys appreciate flowers as well. Obviously not huge bouquets, but just a rose here or there to show you care.

Jeffrey’s stationed out of the country now. He was just married last year and is expecting his first child. I haven’t seen him in almost three years, and his current situation doesn’t allow for much constant communication.

I’d love to properly congratulate him on all the big events he’s recently experienced, and give him a little reminder of that friendship we once shared. I’ve actually just found out that with Flora2000, I can send flowers to 150 different countries with ease. Friday is payday and I think I might look into that if I can get in touch with Jeffrey to get some contact info for him and Jackie.

I can’t wait for Jeffrey to be back in Georgia. I’m looking forward to the possibility of re-sparking the bond we once shared.

Let’s Get Things Rollin’

The Rookie Blogger is holding the first of many contests to help build up a name and traffic to his new blog.

Mike’s fairly new to the game. He’s recently discovered the world of money-making on the internet and is somewhat chronicling his venture.

Part of his plan is to give back to his readers regularly with different contests and such every month.

I wish you well Mike! It can be a bumpy ride, but it’s certainly an interesting one!

If you’d like to help Mike out, and possibly earn $50, you can give your readers a heads up about his contest. You can win through blogging, or genuine comments on his blog between now and the end of November.

Dunder Mifflin Infinity

Help! We tried to get the Macon, Ga branch of Dunder Mifflin Infinity started, but something’s gone wonky and nothing’s happening with that. We’re trying again with the Columbus, Ga branch!

What’s Dunder Mifflin Infinity? They say it better than I could:

What is Dunder Mifflin Infinity?
Dunder Mifflin Infinity (DMI) is the new online division of Dunder Mifflin, Inc. Paper Company. Created by Vice President of Regional Sales Ryan Howard, DMI was designed to reinvent the business of selling paper. DMI employees will form branches and complete work assignments from Corporate. In honor of Dunder Mifflin’s 2006 Salesman of the Year, Dwight K. Schrute, payment for all DMI employees will be in the form of SchruteBucks.

Why should I join the Dunder Mifflin Infinity Team?
In addition to your consummate passion for all things paper, you should have a commitment to excellence and a desire to change the world. Diligent and hard-working employees will be rewarded in SchruteBucks, which can be spent on decorating their Virtual Desks, as well as with exclusive content (video, photos and downloads), official merchandise from the NBC Store, items featured in actual episodes of “The Office”, and much, much more!

So basically it’s just extra fun! The branches that have the most participation get prizes and such, as I understand it!

So help some sisters out! Pretty please, with sugar on top, sign up for the Columbus, GA branch using this as the manager code: ao8e69m0g8. 15 people have to sign up using the same manager code before the branch will be opened. If you want, once we’ve got it all opened, I’ll make sure you know and you can ‘resign’ or move to another branch, or continue on with us! I’d really, REALLY appreciate it!

Fabulize me

South Georgia isn’t exactly on the cusp of all things trendy. I’ve always relied on the net to keep up with where the world is really at right now. I’m great at keeping up with music–always singing songs months before people around here even know the band I’m singing! I need help in other areas though!

Her Fab Life has the inside scoop I’ve been looking for! They don’t just cover the latest styles, they’ve got the latest events, stores, restaurants–you name it, you’ll find it. They’re a great source for relationship advice, and even beauty tips, as well.

Consider it bookmarked, ’cause we all know I could use a little fashion help!
