JELL-O Singles!

jell-o-singles-chocolatelge.jpg How exciting do these look?! Well, I’m here to tell you that they’ll completely live up to your expectations!

I had every intention of taking pictures of the whole process, but I got too excited about having chocolate pudding *shameface*

The boxes come with 6 individual packets. All you do is add the mix to 1/2 cup of milk, stir, and place in the fridge for about 5 minutes to chill!

I was skeptical at one serving being satisfying enough. It was a fat kid moment, ya know? So I doubled the milk and used two packets (and am happy to say that in this case, doubling works just fine–ya know sometimes when you double something like this the outside ingredients needed aren’t exactly on). I recommend pouring the packet into your milk (which is what you’re supposed to do….) because I have a habit of putting in my dry ingredients and then pouring in my wet ones–in this case, it made it harder to get out the little blobs because this really hits pudding consistency faster than a normal batch of pudding.

I stirred till I was satisfied I had gotten all my mistake-blobs out and then sat it in the fridge while I had my lunch.

To my surprise, two servings was too much. I couldn’t finish! *shock* The flavor was perfect! There was no distinguishing it from a full recipe.

Currently these are only available in Vanilla and Chocolate–and the sugar free versions of each. I’d love to see Devil’s Food in the future. It’s my faaavorite.

Leona Lewis–”Bleeding Love”

I rarely listen to the radio, but when I do, inevitably this song plays. I don’t have a huge problem with it; it’s a catchy song, unfortunately. It gets stuck in my head. The thing is,the lyrics just don’t match the try-to-be-poppy music they paired it with. I look at the lyrics and see it more as just a work to read, (err, despite a few rhymes that are just for the song aspect, ya know?) not the next Top 40 hit….

Maybe it’s just me. Judge for yourself!

Closed off from love
I didn’t need the pain
Once or twice was enough
And it was all in vain
Time starts to pass
Before you know it you’re frozen

But something happened
For the very first time with you
My heart melted into the ground
Found something true
And everyone’s looking round
Thinking I’m going crazy

But I don’t care what they say
I’m in love with you
They try to pull me away
But they don’t know the truth
My heart’s crippled by the vein
That I keep on closing
You cut me open and I

Keep bleeding
Keep, keep bleeding love
I keep bleeding
I keep, keep bleeding love
Keep bleeding
Keep, keep bleeding love
You cut me open

Trying hard not to hear
But they talk so loud
Their piercing sounds fill my ears
Try to fill me with doubt
Yet I know that the goal
Is to keep me from falling

But nothing’s greater
Than the rush that comes with your embrace
And in this world of loneliness
I see your face
Yet everyone around me
Thinks that I’m going crazy, maybe, maybe

But I don’t care what they say
I’m in love with you
They try to pull me away
But they don’t know the truth
My heart’s crippled by the vein
That I keep on closing
You cut me open and I

Keep bleeding
Keep, keep bleeding love
I keep bleeding
I keep, keep bleeding love
Keep bleeding
Keep, keep bleeding love
You cut me open

And it’s draining all of me
Oh they find it hard to believe
I’ll be wearing these scars
For everyone to see

I don’t care what they say
I’m in love with you
They try to pull me away
But they don’t know the truth
My heart’s crippled by the vein
That I keep on closing
You cut me open and I

Keep bleeding
Keep, keep bleeding love
I keep bleeding
I keep, keep bleeding love
Keep bleeding
Keep, keep bleeding love
You cut me open and I

Keep bleeding
Keep, keep bleeding love
I keep bleeding
I keep, keep bleeding love
Keep bleeding
Keep, keep bleeding love
You cut me open and I
Keep bleeding
Keep, keep bleeding love

Remember Wednesday on temporary hold

I’ve got a little Remember Wednesday blockage so I think I’m gonna put it on hold for a few weeks and spend some time with my music collection to dig up some good memories!

Don’t hold back though, if you have one you’d like to share, just hit the Remember Wednesday category in the sidebar and leave a comment on the most recent post. I’ll be sure you get some linkage and others can find your post!!

Remember Wednesday July 9th

Divinyls–I Touch Myself

Before your mind wanders, I’ll clear that up for you. Hearing this song always makes me think of Buffy! Someone made a great Pop-up video of Buffy/Spike to the song and ever since, I’ve equated it with the show.

There’s not a ton I can say about Buffy that I haven’t said in the three times I’ve watched the show (not counting reruns and such). But really, who can resist getting caught up in a forbidden love story between a girl and a vampire? Look no further than the previous post for my current reading obsession ;)

Twilight

twilight.JPG From the back cover: About three things I was absolutely positive.

First, Edward was a vampire.

Second, there was a part of him– and I didn’t know how dominant that part might be– that thirsted for my blood.

And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.

I have not been so absorbed in a book in…..well I honestly don’t know that I ever have! The way Stephenie Meyer writes–it’s just not enough to say you’re in the book. Every gasp, every flutter of anticipation or fear, every increase in heart rate–I truly experienced them all with Bella.

I bought Twilight and started reading it late Friday night after work. I had to force myself to go to sleep. I woke up and immediately started reading again until the last possible moment I had before I had to get ready and leave for work. I was reading at red lights! I was 15 minutes late on my lunch break, reading in the car. I got home Saturday night and didn’t even eat. I devoured the book until it was done and I was desperate for more. In less than 9 hours time in and around work, I had finished it and couldn’t stand the wait I knew I was in for before I could get the next book. I even dreamed I was a part of it. I was just that taken over by it. I toyed with the idea of skipping work to go buy the next book, but talked myself into my short shift. Again, I rushed to the bookstore to buy the next two books and reserve the 4th. I ran upstairs and started in….I finished the second book that night. I can’t tell you how long it’s been since I finished a novel in a day. I didn’t eat until I absolutely had to.

I can’t describe for you the way the book pulls you in, but I can’t imagine anyone being able to resist the pull.

Of course they’re making it into a movie, set to come out in December, and I just don’t know how I feel. I can’t imagine them being able to duplicate the feelings of breathlessness the book inspires. I’m sure they’ll focus more on the action, and really, that was maybe 1/4 of the book.

I’m curious to see if their choice for Edward works out. I think he’s got a good shot. Of course, it’s going to be hard to live up to the image of Edward in my mind–strong, delicate, so very subtle but still aware that he could break you in half with just the wrong flick of his wrist.

I’m not thrilled with their choice for Bella. Her look is too distinct where Bella should look more fragile; the contrast of her bravery and determination against looking like she could crumble is something I don’t think the actress can achieve, but we’ll see.

I can absolutely tell you I’ll be re-reading Twilight. And probably soon. Very likely as soon as I finish the third book, which would likely be finished already had I not made plans with actual people…..

Just read it; you’ll thank me.

Tidy Cats Scoop (Multiple Cats)

tidycats.jpg No. Just no.

I’ve been having a problem with Willow lately. Since there’s a cat outside getting attention, she’s stopped covering her waste in an attempt to establish dominance (so a Google search tells me, anyway). Of course it’s also summer so she’s drinking a lot more water so she’s going more often.

The automatic box was becoming a mess, so I got a cheap box to see if maybe a change of scenery would do her some good, and it has! She’s not covering 100%, but I’d say about 85%.

I’ve been trying different litters too to cope with the extra moisture and jeeze–this Tidy Cats Scoop (for multiple cats no less) sucks big time! It doesn’t absorb anything! It just turns into something akin to thick modeling clay that sticks to the box like glue! I had such a fight trying to get it all out and even ended up having to scrub the scoop by hand after using it to pry the clumps out. It was NOT a pleasant experience!

So skip over this one–seriously! Of course I’ve used litters that I’ve liked more than others, but I’ve never thought, “wow this litter seriously sucks” until this one!

I’m happy to say that while searching for a picture, I ran across a product review praising the super cheap litter I just picked up last night and they used a picture of this Tidy Cats as an example of one of the crappy, overpriced litters!

Remember Wednesday July 2nd

Remember Wednesday is a weekly segment where I reminisce with a song (or songs) that always brings up a particular memory. I invite you all to do the same. For more details on how to play along, read here!

This week I bring you Champagne Supernova by Oasis. Of course, most people think of Wonderwall when it comes to Oasis, but Champagne Supernova was the first song I ever remember staying up to wait for the music video every night. As Kat pointed out last week, you may remember that MTV used to actually play music videos, at this point, they were down to shows for videos and after a certain time of night, they’d play videos all night.

I had a television in my room (only because my brothers had one too) and I remember lying with my head at the foot of the bed with the tv on mute–on older tv’s, mute just meant really, really low–so it was loud enough for me in a completely silent house. I never had to wait too long before Champagne Supernova would finally come on and I could go to sleep! I just loved all the random imagery and explosion of colors. I still enjoy the song on a regular rotation.

I can’t embed the video, but you can catch it here on youtube!
