You’ll shoot your eye out!

Believe it or not, but I used to be a pretty sharp shot. That’s right, I just get more country by the minute! I had a closet full of camouflage and my own little section in the gun cabinet.

I’ve still got my old bb gun, but it’s not of much use to me here. After Ryan had a gun pulled on him here during a football game one night, he wanted to go out and get a pistol, but he never went through with that. Instead, he picked up something pretty similar to this guy.

He was looking into airsoft guns that look somewhat menacing. I’ll be honest, I’ve been glad to have it around. Even though it wouldn’t be a whole lot of good if something really went down, it makes me feel better having it here in the event I can scare off some idiot.

We shoot cans out in the parking lot pretty often as well. I’m trying to get my aim back, but I was never really all that great at aiming pistols anyhow. I’m more of a rifle girl.

How long has it been since you shot a bb gun? PyramydAir offers a 5% off coupon, so maybe now is the time to try one out again! Or maybe you can pick one up for that friend who never got to have one when they were little ;)

Wii Play

Believe it or not, I’ve had this post in draft for months, and now that I’ve got a Wii, it definitely feels like it’s time to share my love for Wii Play.

Wii Play comes with:

  • Shooting Range– think Duck Hunt
  • Find Mii– you basically find pairs in large crowds, or the odd mii out, etc
  • Table Tennis
  • Pose Mii– well, this one is stupid…
  • Laser Hockey–I’m pretty much the only one I know who has a handle on this one, and I LOVE it!
  • Billiards
  • Fishing– I’m waiting to break my nose or just bruise my face yanking the controller back
  • Charge!– This is my favorite! You race COWS! You title the wii remote to control them. It’s way too much fun!
  • Tanks!– You’re a little toy tank, shooting other little toy tanks! Woo!

Yeah, to say I enjoy it would be an understatement for sure. In fact, I need to go play now. Kthnxbye.

Lifehouse–Whatever it Takes

Yay!! The new single/video for Lifehouse is here. I present to you, Whatever it Takes:

I love it! I totally don’t get the lamp thing, but whatever. I think we all really wish the other guys had been in the video as well, but personally, I think they were really trying to break away from the whole performance aspect they’ve stuck to in pretty much every other video. It’s so great to see Jason like this. He’s really coming into his own performance-wise. He’s always been an incredible performer, but you can really tell he’s gaining even more confidence in himself and embracing his image. He’s owning up to being sexy, which is definitely new for a lot of us fans who’ve always thought Jason was hot–but we kinda saw him as asexual! haha

I can’t believe he finally gave into having a ‘love interest’ in a video. In the past they’ve always wanted him to be the actor, but he’s always turned that idea down.

I really hope this does well! I’m so excited to see the guys doing so well, I just hope it continues!

And here’s a little behind the scenes video we got as a teaser:

Major Movie Star

Uploaded by IMLX

I’m getting really tired of these blatantly unoriginal story ideas. We’ve take then out-of-work-broke actress and combined her with the girly girl going into the army. Wooo….

Unfortunately I’ll probably end up watching this. :-X Why do I have to be a sucker for pop culture?

Chasing Amy

chasingamy.jpg

Some consider Chasing Amy to be part of the Jay and Silent Bob series–some don’t. I can see either opinion fairly well. I sort of feel like watching all the Jay and Silent Bob movies is kind of like a rite of passage for my generation. *shrug* But then again, I’m kind of just an odd person.

So, I’m sure most of you have seen the movie by now, so I’m not going to avoid spoilers. It’s an older movie and not really one that needs to all be a surprise anyway.

I was distracted by Ben Afleck’s hair, including his facial hair, throughout the whole movie. It was just bad–and not excusable for 90’s hair at all.

The premise is really interesting. Ben Afleck falls in love with a lesbian. Turns out she kinda likes him too. Complications ensue!

It was so predictable that Holden (Ben Afleck) got angry when he realized he wasn’t the only guy she’d ever been with. Total guy reaction. She never told him as much, but sure, she never said anything to let him think otherwise. I don’t fault her for that though.

I’m still not sure how I feel about them ‘outing’ Banky…that all confuses me a little bit.

I’m also not sure how any person could ever come up with the solution Holden thought up.

I didn’t like the ending in that, I didn’t really get anything I was looking for out of it, but at the same time, I applaud Kevin Smith for not giving us the total predictable outcome.

So I enjoyed it. I’d let it play in the background if it were on television. And that’s all I really have to say about it!

Tryin’ Smorty

Next on my list of companies to utilize is Smorty. Smorty is another system used to advertise on blogs and get the word out. The idea behind their company is to provide a true opinion.

I’ve submitted both blogs to them and each were accepted within 24 hours–less than 72 is their promise.

Their criteria is fairly basic–at least three months old, indexed by Google, regular postings, not offensive, etc…I can’t see many people having problems being accepted. There’s no limit on how many you can have in their system either.

Pay generally ranges from $6-$100. Posts should be between 150-400 words and contain one link.

Advertisers have 5 days to approve your post. If they don’t within the allotted time, it’s automatically approved. Once your post has been approved, you’ll be paid on the next payday. Payouts are done weekly.

Smorty also pays via PayPal, so no worries about giving them too much personal information.

We’ll see what all Smorty may have to offer me!

Georgia Rule

Rachel comes to stay with her Grandmother Georgia for the summer leaving some obvious problems behind at home. Her alcoholic mother doesn’t even stay the night before rushing back out to California to be with her husband. Rachel shakes up the town, a beautiful girl in the boring Mormon country. Then she reveals her deepest secret to one of her new friends, and her mother comes rushing back to find out if its true. In the midst of this crisis the three woman become closer than ever and start to understand each other more.

I’m watching Georgia Rule right now, and I’d like to complain in real-time.

First off they’ve done a horrible job with wardrobe. A grandmother that dressed down doesn’t wear that much makeup, and that ‘messy’ hairdo isn’t messy….

And could we skip the fake eyelashes on Lindsay?? Wth…

Lindsay is playing herself well….what great writing…

Alright, so far, the dialog is too blunt to be believable….

Again…Lindsay doing a great job of playing a rude whore…Let’s see if we can corrupt an entire town!

It seems we’re getting better at making Grandma look a little more homely, but we’re losing something in the way scenes are cut together.

Whoooa! When did Cary Elwes chub up!? He’s definitely not fat, but that’s not my Wesley!

This poor boy, Harlan, is adorable. His character is too cute.

And now we’ve gotten all serious. Only a little interesting though.

Whoa…I think I just saw one of the girls from Step By Step. I didn’t think any of them did any other work! lol

I don’t like using Cary Elwes as a dirty character…

And now she’s a 17 year old goddess in the kitchen??

This is really annoying. There’s a pretty big ‘issue’ but you can’t tell if Lindsay’s character has lied about it happening, or if she’s lying when she tells her mother it was a lie–is she just saying it to make her mom feel better? They manage to do it in a way that’s not at all intriguing. Pretty much makes me want to just turn it off.

Is there supposed to be some sort of symbolism with her only wearing white? Also annoying.

They should end the movie with her killing herself. That might save it.

Haha oh I spoke too soon. Now she’s head to toe in red. Definitely symbolism…

Man–these characters are too unbelievable.

Well alright….it has a very small handful of moments that are really interesting. Not enough to be worth watching though. I’m not even going to bother looking for a picture. Don’t bother with this one.

Spock

I think by now, most of you have heard about Spock. I read a bit about it a few months back and went ahead and signed up.

Spock is a search application for People. Not just celebrities either–anyone online can theoretically be found on Spock. Spock provides relevant tags, related people, up to date news, and links to any and everywhere this person is mentioned online.

I did a quick search for the writer’s strike and immediately came up with BJ Novak and Mindy Kaling, two hyphenates (writer-actors) from The Office.

I haven’t ‘claimed’ all the links to myself just yet (Myspace page, Facebook, blogs, site profiles, etc) but you can be certain I intend to. By doing so, I can make sure I’m linked properly.

I want to work on Ryan’s info as well. His search only shows info from his Myspace page and well, he’s only logged into Myspace a handful of times.

We all ’stalk’ people via the internet. That’s half of why all these social networking sites become so popular. Spock has been added to my list of stops to look for the goods on someone, or just to find someone I want to catch up with. I remember when I first met Ryan, I looked all over the place for info about him–just anything to have a decent conversation starter. At the time, I had no clue how to spell his last name, but I bet anything I could’ve used my spy skills to locate him on Spock via all the related tags!

And I’m gonna need Mr. Fabulous to go ahead and claim himself on there. The results are a little sad without his colorful world showing up!

Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to spend a few hours looking through all these links they have for Johnny Depp.

The Office 4X05 [4X11]

All television episode posts are spoilery. Please do not read if you haven’t yet seen the episode, and intend to.

This episode has its ups and downs for me. It definitely wasn’t a favorite of this season.

It cracked me up to see Michael’s play on Survivorman, but I didn’t feel like they really did all they could with it. I mean, they didn’t even show anything happening to Michael in reaction to the mushrooms. He didn’t actually eat them, but he ingested bits and nothing happened. *shrug*

The whole story with no one wanting to combine Birthdays was a good idea, but they really didn’t make it entertaining…that’s not at all how I’d expect the characters from The Office to react.

And really, where was this random seriousness with Jim? That seemed to come out of the blue to me. I don’t like what they seem to be setting up. Is Jim supposed to have some sort of freak out now and try to get away from this job? Meh–this isn’t a drama, what are we going for here guys?

Bloggerwave

I’m branching out and looking to see just what I can do with my blogs. Next up to try out is bloggerwave.

I’ve read up a lot about them, and they had a pretty controversial beginning. Some things got messed up with payments, something PayPal had an issue with, and problems not being communicated in the absolute best way, and suddenly they had a bad rep.

Of course, it all go sorted out, but they’re still working to restore their name and I’m looking to find out for myself.

I encourage anyone else to explore for themselves and get their own feel for how things really are.
