I recently rediscovered my love for Maroon 5. I love everything about their album “Songs About Jane,” including the b-sides from that time period.
The lyrics are so aggressive and flat-out HOT. Adam Levine wants to fuck me like an animal? Well okay then! (Okay, so those aren’t his lyrics, but still, he sings them very convincingly, dammit.)
Those lyrics had bite to them.
This same love does not carry over to the latest album, “It Won’t Be Soon Before Long.” The album fans waited impatiently for five years to hear. I dunno what the hell happened, man. It’s like night and day. I mean, I’d venture to say there are probably two songs on the album I wouldn’t immediately skip over in my iPod shuffling.
I’d love nothing more than to be able to say they avoided the sophomore slump, but I just can’t. I know his life is a little less angsty now, and that’s great! But dude, you don’t have to be angry to write good music with a little attitude, I promise. I’m all for musical growth, but there’s no need to completely change your writing style and music when what you had was working out so beautifully!
Give me back my power-hungry lyricist! Dominate me musically! I’m hoping somebody someday will do me like you did.
Adam are you listening? Can you hear me? Are you reading this? Please fix your album. Kthnxbye.

Help! We tried to get the Macon, Ga branch of Dunder Mifflin Infinity started, but something’s gone wonky and nothing’s happening with that. We’re trying again with the Columbus, Ga branch!
What’s Dunder Mifflin Infinity? They say it better than I could:
What is Dunder Mifflin Infinity?
Dunder Mifflin Infinity (DMI) is the new online division of Dunder Mifflin, Inc. Paper Company. Created by Vice President of Regional Sales Ryan Howard, DMI was designed to reinvent the business of selling paper. DMI employees will form branches and complete work assignments from Corporate. In honor of Dunder Mifflin’s 2006 Salesman of the Year, Dwight K. Schrute, payment for all DMI employees will be in the form of SchruteBucks.
Why should I join the Dunder Mifflin Infinity Team?
In addition to your consummate passion for all things paper, you should have a commitment to excellence and a desire to change the world. Diligent and hard-working employees will be rewarded in SchruteBucks, which can be spent on decorating their Virtual Desks, as well as with exclusive content (video, photos and downloads), official merchandise from the NBC Store, items featured in actual episodes of “The Office”, and much, much more!
So basically it’s just extra fun! The branches that have the most participation get prizes and such, as I understand it!
So help some sisters out! Pretty please, with sugar on top, sign up for the Columbus, GA branch using this as the manager code: ao8e69m0g8. 15 people have to sign up using the same manager code before the branch will be opened. If you want, once we’ve got it all opened, I’ll make sure you know and you can ‘resign’ or move to another branch, or continue on with us! I’d really, REALLY appreciate it!

Sheets for a King sized bed are so ridiculously overpriced.
I had a little extra money I could afford to play with, so I decided to get some new sheets for the bed. We only had one set, since we’ve only had the bed for a few months, so sheets were definitely needed.
I started looking around up town for cheap-ish sheet sets and just didn’t find anything. I could’ve fed my neighbors twice with some of the cash they wanted for these things.
Ebay time! I didn’t really find any sheets I particularly wanted to pay for either, so I kept browsing at full sets. The comforter I bought originally didn’t look the way I wanted to, nor was it as thick as I thought a comforter should be…I paid around $70 for just the comforter and a bed skirt. No sheets. But it’s a King, right? *eyeroll*
I found a few I liked, but still a little too pricey, and then I saw one that caught my eye! Now, less than $40 later, I own this prettiness (click for larger):

I love it so much! Shipping was super-fast too! After I bid, I noticed the seller has the comforter I already owned, which had me a little concerned about whether or not this set would be cheapish, since I wasn’t paying much. I messaged the seller and got a really quick, really honest response! They were pretty modest in their response, but I still decided to stick with it since I’d at least be getting the gold sheets, which for some reason, just called to me! I knew it couldn’t be any thinner than the comforter we already had, and I was paying almost half the price for twice the products! Anyway, the comforter came…and it’s just so fluffy! Ryan even commented on how comfy it was!
Needless to say, I’m more than pleased and I’ll be looking to Rarick’s Bargain Barn on Ebay first when I’m looking for bed stuff from now on!

From Amazon:
Wit is that rare beast: art that engages both the heart and the mind. “It is not my intention to give away the plot,” Vivian Bearing, Ph.D., announces near the beginning of Margaret Edson’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play, “but I think I die at the end. They’ve given me less than two hours.” For two hours, this famed Donne scholar takes center stage, interrupting her doctors, nurses, and students to explicate her own story, its metaphors and conceits. Recently diagnosed with late-stage ovarian cancer, she is being treated with an experimental drug cocktail administered in “eight cycles. Eight neat little strophes.” The chemo makes her feel worse than she ever thought possible; in fact, the treatment is making her sick, not the disease–an irony she says she’d appreciate in a Donne sonnet, if not so much in life.
I own a copy of Wit signed by author Margaret Edson, care of Ben on his meeting with her when she spoke at SGC. I had not yet read it until I hear that VSU would be taking on the production this year. I was absolutely enthralled once I picked it up. It’s such a beautiful depiction of her end.
Annie was amazing as Vivian. I wish she’d have shaved her head–from where we were sitting, the back of the bald cap just wasn’t quite cutting it–but I understand why she didn’t. She’s about to graduate and just can’t afford to with serious auditions coming.
I absolutely loved the set! It was one gorgeous back wall, with removable parts that served as different props in the play and they worked beautifully!
I had only two real negative things to say. Patrick put a little too much comedy into Dr. Posner. Instead of seeing the gradual change from the admiring ex-student, to the cold ‘fellow’ who cares nothing about his patients, we saw an almost abrupt change. Comedy is really Patrick’s area, and he just pushed those small comedic aspects a little too far.
The end scene was really off on timing. Instead of looking like absolute chaos, everything was stunted, leaving certain characters looking as though they were just staring off into space…waiting for their next cues.
That’s all I really have to say. Seeing this reminded me how important it is to read/experience something this deep more than once. There were a few things I more deeply understood and connected after watching the play. I even took a greater understanding of why it’s so verbose. I love it even more than I did before.

I absolutely love the imagination that fuels this. I still vividly remember creating worlds, just the way they did. I love how Leslie and Jess interact in their world, with Leslie leading the way. I could just hear all the prompts they’d be giving each other about what was going on now in their imaginary world. It’s so true to kid-form. It always starts off with one providing all the details, until eventually, everyone gets a feel for the ‘world’ and can follow their own paths.
I really expected the movie to jump right into Terabithia, so I was pleasantly surprised to see how they worked into it, and definitely satisfied!
I couldn’t stop cracking up over all the little kids chanting, “Free the pee!” in response to a school bully.
I was a stretch for me to imagine Leslie being quite as knowledgeable as she was. But it definitely served its purpose. I was really pleased, as well, with the types of situations they were able to bring to light without being too….after school special. Sometimes it’s just enough to let the situation be known. Sometimes people just need to know they’re not alone. You don’t always have to flesh something out in a movie, ya know? So I was really pleased.
Overall, based on the trailers, where they played up all the fantasy stuff, it wasn’t at all the movie I was expecting to see, but I really enjoyed it. I’m glad I followed the whim to get it and finally watch it.

On Wednesday I went next door to let the guys entertain me. Alas, I ended up just looking through Game Informer ’cause they were playing a much less entertaining game than I had previously thought. My bad!
Of course, this brought up the lovely issue of me finding no less than 5 games I desperately want to own…none of which I even have the correct system for. *sigh* I hate when I’m not caught up enough with game technology!
Well, at On Top Results, a Charlotte Web Design firm, they’re giving away your choice of one of three items– an LCD monitor, a 5gig iPod, or an Xbox 360. Well, I already have an iPod, and technically, I own 2 LCD monitors, but wow! A free Xbox 360? For real? Sign me up for this one!
Again, it’s as simple as blogging and adding a link. 10 minutes of your time could find you wasting away on a couch with an Xbox controller! You KNOW that sounds appealing!

South Georgia isn’t exactly on the cusp of all things trendy. I’ve always relied on the net to keep up with where the world is really at right now. I’m great at keeping up with music–always singing songs months before people around here even know the band I’m singing! I need help in other areas though!
Her Fab Life has the inside scoop I’ve been looking for! They don’t just cover the latest styles, they’ve got the latest events, stores, restaurants–you name it, you’ll find it. They’re a great source for relationship advice, and even beauty tips, as well.
Consider it bookmarked, ’cause we all know I could use a little fashion help!

So this Garmin Nuvi 360 is what we used on our Oklahoma trip. I’ve been a little curious about these GPS systems, partly because Ryan brings them up pretty regularly, and partly because they’ve just recently started making commercials that have drawn my attention to them. So when we loaded up and I saw that we were using one, I was really interested to see how it’d work out.
Overall, I could definitely see the benefit. I haven’t had other experiences to compare it to, but by my stepfather’s reckoning, he thinks the TomTom is a better brand.
For the most part, the Garmin was right on. We hit more patches than I expected where the roads had been changed and the Garmin maps weren’t updated to show it. It was understandable when we were stopping for food in smaller cities and heading through some of the country roads, but there was more than one instance on a major interstate where the Garmin showed us driving through the woods, even though the roads had been changed for well over a year. (I don’t know how long for certain, but to me, I saw no evidence of the old road that should’ve still been in sight from where we were.)
I really would’ve liked a pause feature on the unit, as well. Now, I’ll be honest in saying that I didn’t really get to play with it much myself, but it seemed the only option really, was to turn it off, or back all the way out to the menus. It got really annoying to hear, “Recalculating,” every time we pulled off for gas, or when we were on those mysterious interstates that didn’t exist…
I’ll admit though, the times when it showed us as lost, it was always still obvious where we needed to go. So I’d say for anyone with a decent sense of direction, it’s definitely worthwhile. It was amazing to be able to hit “food” and see a list of places nearby!
It’s given me an idea of how well GPS systems can work, and now I’m considering looking into something cheaper for Ryan, maybe for Christmas. I think I’m gonna get Roger to help me look into my options. I’m gonna ask him about the system they had before the Garmin. I know it was a little cheaper, and I may be able to find a good one on Ebay. Ebay is my homeboy

Know what I love most about Sundays? 3 hours of Myth busting!
Adam and Jamie always deliver the funny. I can’t even fathom how much I’ve learned from the show without even realizing it.
The premise is two Hollywood special effects experts take myths/urban legends and test them to determine is the myth is busted (false), confirmed (true), or plausible.
In the end, once the testing has been done, they take it to the extreme, often ending in explosions =) For instance, if they tested a myth about blowing up a microwave and it didn’t work, they’d then take it to the extreme to see what sort of situation would blow up the microwave. I love it!
I’m always amazed at how thoroughly they go into it, and just how much they know. They’re even more than willing to re-visit myths they’ve tested in the past if viewers write in with ideas on other things they can try, or facts they may have missed and not taken into consideration.
Quotable Quote: “I don’t think our death ray is working. I’m standing right in it, and I’m not dead yet.” <–How could you not love that?
